vidcon

Video conferencing is the conduct of a video conference (also known as video teleconference) by a set of telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions.

Video conferencing is suitable for small meetings, presentations, lectures and seminars.  It can offer large savings in time and travel costs, and allow you to connect to people in remote locations.

  • Teach students in remote locations (example Student at UUM KL Campus).
  • Vivas:  overseas students or examiners at their local site.
  • Collaborate with research colleagues around the world.
  • Interview students and job candidates.
  • Present grant proposals.
  • Meet with members of boards, thesis committees and peer review groups.
  • Management meetings:  project administration and progress reports.

We provide high definition video conferencing facility at Computer Centre, UUM Sintok campus.  Primarily this is used for teaching between UUM Sintok and UUM KL campus, but we can also link to other locations by prior arrangement.

The service is available to all UUM staffs from 08:30 - 22:00, Sunday - Thursday. Special approvals are needed if there is request for services after office hours.

Wired and wireless Internet accesses are available in the video conference room. Kindly bring your own notebook if you need to do presentations via Microsoft PowerPoint.
