» Configuring Exchange Email for Android-based-Phones

If you already have an account on the phone (such as a Google or a POP account), you will need to follow these steps first:

  • Open the Email application.
  • Click the Menu button and then click the Accounts button.
  • Click the Menu button again and click Add Account.
  • Enter your email address and password.

Then continue with these steps :

1.    Open the Mail application.

2.    Enter your email address and password.

3.    Click Next.

4.    Click Exchange Account.

5.    Enter your:

  • DOMAIN\username (STAF\ahmad),
  • Password
  • Exchange server address (

6.    Check Use Secure Connection and Accept All SSL Certificates.

7.    After authentication, check the boxes associated with the features you want to include such as Push, Amount To Sync, Notifications, Sync Contacts, Sync Calendar, Sync Calendar Amount.

8.    Click Next.

9.    In the next screen, you need to give an account name and your name (this will be displayed on outgoing email messages).

Note: Make sure the DOMAIN\username is set up in exactly that format, and the domain is most likely in all caps.

With an Exchange account set up on your Android phone, you will not find one built-in application to handle all of the apps in one location; instead, you have to view the email, calendar, and contacts separately. Fortunately, when you set up the email account for an Exchange server, it automatically pulls the information for calendar and contacts — as long as you’ve set it up to do so.


» Configuring for Blackberry OS 4.6.x and later (BlackBerry Bold/9700 and on)

1.    At the main screen, select Menu

2.    Select Setup

3.    Select Setup Wizard

4.    Select Email Setup

5.    Select I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, then click Next

6.    Under Has your BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator provided you with an Enterprise Activation password? select Yes, then Next

7.    Enter the user's address as ahmad">ahmad and use the activation code obtained earlier as the password (uum). Activation Server Address should not be necessary.

8.    Select Menu, then Activate.


» Configuring Exchange ActiveSync on the iPad

1.    Before You Begin

  • Install the latest version of iTunes
  • Back up your iPad
  • Make sure you are connected to a reliable and fast network (preferably Wi-Fi) before beginning

2.    Tap the “Settings” icon from the home screen, then “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

3.    In “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”, tap “Add Account…”

4.    Tap the “Microsoft Exchange” icon
Note: This is where you come in if you tap the Mail app from the home screen with no accounts configured

5.    Now you will enter your Exchange account information:

  • EMAIL : ahmad">ahmad (example)
  • SERVER :
  • USERNAME : ahmad (your email username)
  • Password : ****** (your email password)
  • Description : ahmad">ahmad

6.    Tap “Next” and the iPad will attempt to auto-discover and configure the Exchange account
Note: This can take up to 5 minutes on slow networks or if autodiscovery is not supported

7.    If the Exchange server configuration fail (saying it couldn’t validate your account), and you will have to manually enter the Server name.

8.    Tap “Next” and the iPad will verify the configuration

9.    By default, the iPad will synchronize all three data types (Mail, Contacts, and Calendars) with your Exchange ActiveSync server, but you can turn one or more off if you wish

10.    Tap “Done” and the iPad will finalize the configuration and return you to the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” menu while your iPad communicates with the server
Note: It can take a few minutes for calendar entries and contacts to show up
